What Educators Can Do
Schools are creating Safe Routes to School...
- Incorporate SRtS lesson plans into your classroom.
- Partner with families, law enforcement, and your public works department to organize a Walk or Bike to School Month. Learn more about International Walk to School Day.
- Attend SRtS trainings available statewide through the Center for Safe Routes to School in Washington State.
- Pursue a Safe Routes to School (SRtS) grant. $7 million was available for projects in Washington State in 2006. For a list of SRtS grant proposals from 2004-2006, visit the Washington Department of Transportation SRtS site.
