Lesson Plans for Educators

Some of our favorite lesson plans...

Here you will find some of our favorite lesson plans from around the country.

  • Martin Luther King Day March- Celebrate MLK Day with an age-appropriate march around the school.

  • Walk Around the World - Incorporates geography, math, and social studies to demonstrate how far the class can travel on foot/bike.

  • Travel Diary- Awakens students to their family's travel habits and introduces alternatives to car use.

  • Oral History Project - Students interview their grandparents about how they traveled to school.

  • Traffic Tally (from walkBoston)- Students design and conduct a traffic survey to explore traffic volumes on key local roads; make connections between vehicle traffic, air pollution, and health.
