March to School

Orca Elementary's spring walking events

Orca Elementary 1  Orca Elementary 3  Orca Elementary 4  Orca Elementary 2

Orca Elementary welcomed the spring with  "March to School" events for the month March in 2009.  Thanks to a  mini grant from the Seattle Department of Transportation, the school has been able to make improvements to crosswalks and purchase pedestrian safety vests.  The Center for Safe Routes to School provided Orca with lollipop signs for this event.  With parent, staff and student interest building over several years, Orca applied for and recently received a minigrant from the National Center for Safe Routes to School!  They will build on their walk-to-school campaign success with help from this grant in 2010.  Congratulations!
